Sleddog Northern Lights Tour in Lapland

To see the Northern Lights whilst on a Sled Dog Tour in Lapland is nothing short of a remarkable and unforgettable experience. Whilst we cannot guarantee them, suffice to say we see then often, so you do have a good chance. Sled Dog Tours in the evening are a very special experience, trusting in your powerful husky companions to pull your through the snow shrouded dark forests.

Our Sled Dog Kennel is located approx 17km outside the main tourist centre of Kiruna, we will collect you free of charge and bring you to get changed into our warm clothes before taking you into the very dark Poikkijärvi Woods, only a few kilometres away from the Torn River where the world famous Ice Hotel resides. Here our guides will show you around the kennels and explain a little about the huskies we have here. We like to let everyone get involved if they want and that helps you get to know your super friendly Husky team before we head out into the Lapland darkness in search of Aurora Borealis.

We will give you a very important training and safety course so you can travel with confidence and take care of your dog team before we depart, we will be around to help you at all times but we try and leave things under your control. You will help prepare your team of Husky Sled Dogs and soon we will glide into the sparkling snow under the Arctic Moon.

On this remarkable Sled Dog Tour with us, you will travel through the glistening snow covered forests, across lakes and swamps which are frozen solid and enjoy a taste of the winter solitude in the darkness and still of the Arctic night. We will stop in order to allow you to change drivers and take some photographs. Our experienced guides will also try and take some pictures of you on the dog tour so you have some memories of your amazing experience you can view later.

Once we arrive back at our camp we will give our furry friends a little treat of their favourite RAW meat and our guides will take them back to their warm dog houses.

Then we will take you to our Firehut and traditional Igloo if we have had enough snow to build it and cook some delicious local Salmon or Mushroom soup served with polar bröd over the warm open fire. Hopefully our Lapland Northern Lights will come out to play and you will have a little time left to snap some wonderful pictures of the Aurora.
